You have a card selected and signed, then like most signed card plots you lose it into the deck. You produce a packet of four Jokers with blue backs. One by one they turn from face up to face down in your hands with just a little magical twist. You hand the packet to the spectator and ask them to wave their hand over the cards. One card turns face down. The three remaining Jokers are all shown to now have different colored backs, and written on the backs is “Your Card Is” with an arrow pointing at the remaining face down card. They turn it over and it’s their signed card!
Your Card Is… nothing new. It’s a cute variation to the classic Twisting the Aces but with a modified plot, and the addition of a signed card to be a kicker ending. Even the bonus effect of Chameleon Deception isn’t anything out of the ordinary, being nothing more than another variant on a classic plot, but with an added color change ending.
The moves involved are nothing more difficult than the beloved Elmsley Count and a card palm. The bonus effect Chameleon Deception is basically the same idea as Your Card Is but without the need to steel off and palm a card from the deck which is a nice alternative should you not be comfortable with palming cards.
The supplied gimmick cards are Bicycle brand, and are made to the same standards one would expect from them. The DVD isn’t long, and teaches both effects well.
Your Card Is… a wonderful effect for beginner magicians and those looking for a great little packet trick to amaze their friends with. The sleight of hand isn’t difficult to master, and it reinforces some classic fundamental skills needed to perform many more advanced tricks. Those with more advanced experience in magic will find this revisit to a beloved classic a breath of fresh air as well. All in all I don’t think you can go wrong with this product. Your Card Is… a perfect purchase for anyone looking for that little extra something to do with cards.
